Residential Real Estate Lawyers in Greenwich, CT
Experienced Norwalk Attorneys Assisting Clients with Home Closings, Purchases, Construction Issues, and Litigation
Our Residential Real Estate Department is experienced in assisting clients throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties and New York City in their residential real estate transactions, from the first-time home purchaser to the sophisticated developer. We assist clients in the mortgaging and refinancing of their properties and are approved closing counsel for many lenders, including being the primary Connecticut counsel for mortgage closings for three of the Northeast's major banks. We also act as national title insurance agents for several title insurance companies.
Our firm has one of the largest residential real estate practices in the area, servicing clients from the pre-contract and contract negotiation stage through the completion of the closing and beyond, with respect to the client's future plans for their property. During this process, we advise and assist the client with the proper completion and submission of the ever-changing documentation required in today's market while being cognizant of the time constraints and changing circumstances which are part of the residential real estate process. We regularly advise our clients regarding any construction, zoning, environmental, land use, and title issues that may arise. Additionally, we actively negotiate lease agreements on behalf of both the landlords and tenants whom we represent.
Land Use
Attorneys in our Land Use Department advise clients on the development and use of both commercial and residential property and prepare and present applications to administrative agencies, including:
- Planning and zoning
- Zoning board of appeals
- Inland wetlands and watercourses
- Architectural and historical review boards
We also represent clients before state and federal administrative agencies and courts on appeal.
We work closely with clients, architects, engineers and project managers in an effort to maximize client satisfaction, whether a project involves a small addition to a residence or the construction of a large commercial facility.
Attorneys in our Land Use Department often collaborate with the Real Estate and Litigation Departments to provide the best possible representation to clients in the purchase, lease, or improvement of property and in any disputes over ownership or use of property, including use by easement or license and claims of adverse possession and trespass.
Real Estate and Property Tax Litigation

- Lease disputes
- Brokerage disputes
- Municipal tax appeals for commercial and residential properties
